Apple Meringue with Fruit Mostarda

Ingredients

(for 1 apple); 1 apple; 2 egg whites; a pinch of salt; 100 g icing sugar; Lazzaris fruit mostarda as required

Preparation

Core the apple and fill it with the fruit mostarda cut into small pieces. Prepare the meringue: whisk the egg whites until they form stiff peaks; add the pinch of salt and the icing sugar a little at a time, folding it in from the bottom up. Using a spatula, completely cover the apple and put it into the oven preheated to 200° C for approx. 15 minutes, until the meringue is set and lightly browned. Serve with whole pieces of fruit from the mostarda.

As an alternative, use the Lazzaris sliced apple mostarda instead of the fruit mostarda.
